How Accsoon SeeMo 4k works

The SeeMo 4K takes the HDMI output from the camera and encodes it into a format that the iOS device running the free Accsoon SEE app can display and record. The SeeMo 4K can accept 2160p at 23.98/24/25/29.97/30fps, 1080p up to 60fps, and 720p up to 60fps for maximum versatility. The app then displays the image as well as offering a huge range of professional monitoring tools. On top of that, the SEE app can stream or record 4K H.264 video at up to 20 Mbps directly to the device camera roll. Once a video in is the camera roll it can be shared just like any other iPhone video via iMessage, Airdrop WhatsApp, Messenger or email. You can also use these as a backup to your main footage on your camera, or even use them to edit videos when time is of the essence.

The versatile SEE app

The Accsoon SEE app has evolved into one of the most powerful monitoring solutions available today. It makes full use of the amazing touch interface of iOS devices to give rapid access to a wide range of tools. Simply tap on-screen to check focus, bring up waveforms or zebras, de-squeeze anamorphic video, bring up grids and check audio levels. Users can flip the on-screen image around while vlogging and even apply custom LUTs. Accsoon have also optimised the SeeMo and SEE app to be incredibly low latency, rivalling traditional monitors.

4K for better focus check

Because a 4K signal is being fed into the iOS device it also brings a new higher resolution when using the magnify function. This is extremely useful when accurate focus is required, especially when using fast lenses and full-frame cameras. The latest iPhones and iPads use some of the best screens in the business, with high color accuracy and resolution, outperforming all but the most expensive cinema-grade production monitors. Images are crisper and cleaner, with super high pixel density where the eye can no longer detect individual pixels. Charge your iOS device with Accsoon SeeMo 4k

The SeeMo 4K can run for hours on a Sony NP-F type battery. Usefully, it can also charge your iPhone or iPad at the same time over Lightning or USB-C. There is also a useful additional USB-C output to charge other low power USB devices like microphones and small on-camera lights as needed.

Integrated SD card reader

The SeeMo 4K also has an integrated SD card reader that can be used to transfer photos, videos and other files to and from an iOS device. This can be useful as it is often quicker and less troublesome than transferring images off a camera using Wi-fi or Bluetooth. Note that videos cannot be recorded directly to the SD card from the SeeMo 4K.

Size and weight of Accsoon SeeMo 4k

The SeeMo 4K only weighs 115.7g (without battery, mount and cable) and measures 92mm×54mm×46.3mm. It comes with a dedicated clamp for iPhones and an Accsoon cold shoe mount included. Alternatively, it can mount to most iPads using one of Accsoon’s PowerCages for iPad or be mounted via 1/4 20 screw socket.
