Where does evian come from?
French Alps
evian natural mineral water starts as rain and snow that falls onto a glacial plateau in the French Alps.
Glacial Plateau
Every drop of our water begins in the heart of the French Alps or the “impluvium” (the Gavot plateau in Chablais)
where it filters through sand formations deposited during the ice ages and then emerges at the foot
of the Alps in the town of Evian-les-Bains.
Filtration
The water naturally filters through layers of protected underground rock for over 15 years. When it emerges at the evian source it contains
already a natural and characteristic mineral composition, which gives
evian its unique, crisp taste.
Évian-les-Bains
The water emerges at the foot of the alps in the town of Évian-les-Bains, where the evian mineral water was first discovered over 230 years ago. We have great respect for this region and the water it provides. For 30 years, we’ve been in partnership with the local community to continue to protect this natural resource so our water can be enjoyed today, tomorrow and always.
What is natural mineral water?
While there are many different types of bottled water, natural mineral water comes from an underground formation called an aquifer from which water flows to the surface of the earth at a source. Naturally pure and with a stable composition, it can then be collected. evian natural mineral water is collected and bottled from our source (Cachat Spring) in the French Alps.
