Tradeling’s Privacy Policy

Introduction

At Tradeling, we value your trust and are committed to handling your personal information responsibly and transparently. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect and process your Personal Data when you interact with any of the Tradeling Services.

By accessing or using any of the Tradeling Services, you acknowledge and consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right to update or modify the Privacy Policy at any time. Any changes will be effective upon posting on our Platform and notifying you through other appropriate channels. Your continued use of the Tradeling Services after the updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

 

Capitalized terms used in this Privacy Policy shall have the same meanings as those defined in the Conditions of Use and Conditions Sale, unless otherwise stated.

Controller of Personal Data

 

Tradeling, operated from the United Arab Emirates, acts as the Data Controller for personal data collected and processed through its platform. In compliance with the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL), we ensure that personal data is managed securely, considering advancements in technology and privacy standards. Tradeling controls and hosts personal data on cloud infrastructure while adhering to applicable legal and regulatory frameworks.

 

Personal Data we collect

We collect and process personal data to provide and continuously improve our services and User experience and optimize the Platform functionality. Personal Data refers to any information that can identify you as an individual through various identifiers. It does not include anonymized data, where individual identifiers have been removed.

We collect, utilize, store, and transfer various types of Personal Data about you, categorized as follows:

Voluntary data:

  • Identity and contact information: This includes information such as your full name, including your maiden name, username or similar identifier, gender, title, nationality, date of birth, mail and email addresses and phone number including phone numbers used to call our customer service. This may also include copies of the ID or passport copies and corporate information and documentation.

 

  • Profile information: This includes information such as your account’s username, login credentials, preferences, interests, feedback, reviews, preferred language, communications with us and responses to surveys.

 

  • Browser information: This includes information about how you interact with our services, such as pages visited, time spent on the Platform, actions taken during your browsing session, content use history and interactions with content information. This also includes the full URL clickstream data to, through, and from our website, including date and time stamps, cookie identifiers, products and content viewed or searched for, page response times, download errors, visit duration, and page interaction details such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs.

 

  • Marketing and communications data: This includes your preferences regarding receiving marketing communications from us and our third-party partners, as well as records of your communication preferences. You can choose to opt out of personalized advertising at any time through your account settings. 

 

  • Voice, image, and video data: This includes voice input, images, and videos collected when you use our voice, image, or camera-based services such as customer service communications.

 

  • Aggregated Data: In addition to the above, we collect and analyze statistical or demographic data that does not directly identify you. Aggregated data is derived from your personal data but anonymized to provide insights such as the percentage of users accessing a particular feature on our Platform.

Opting not to share certain details may limit your ability to use specific Platform features and services effectively.

Compulsory data:

  • Transaction information: This includes payment details for transactions made with us, such as payment methods, billing details, and records of products and services you have purchased from us.

 

  • Technical information: This includes information we collect automatically that is related to your interactions with our Platform, such as IP address, login data, browser type and version, operating system and device type, mobile application version, time zone settings and location, device-specific identifiers such as IDFA (for iOS users) and device metrics such as when a device is in use, application usage, connectivity data, and any errors or event failures. Additionally, we collect usage information, which includes data collected via cookies, tracking pixels, and web beacons to optimize and personalize your experience. This also includes Tradeling services metrics such as occurrences of technical errors, interactions with service features and content, settings preferences, backup information, location of your device running an application, and information about uploaded images and files (e.g., file name, dates, times, and location). We obtain certain types of information when your web browser or device accesses our services and third-party content provided on our behalf. Without consent to cookies, certain Platform features may not function optimally.

 

  • Purchase information: This includes your order history such as previous purchases, credit history information, redemption history, fulfillment information, order cancellations, modifications, and returns and page-view data collected from service providers that support branding and fulfillment operations on the Platform.

 

  • Information received from third-party resources: This include information from third parties such as logistics providers, communication providers (e.g., updated delivery addresses to ensure efficient order fulfillment), payment processors to verify transactions and business partners who provide demographic information to enhance our records and improve service offerings, Additionally, we may receive account information, purchase or redemption details, and page-view data from merchants with whom we collaborate on co-branded businesses or for whom we provide technical, fulfillment, advertising, or other support services. We also collect information about your interactions with products and services offered by our affiliates, search results and links, including paid listings, and credit history information from credit bureaus, which we use to help prevent and detect fraud and to offer certain credit or financial services to eligible customers. 

How we collect Personal Data

When you use Tradeling Services, you provide us with Personal Data in various ways, such as when you search for or purchase products and services, place an order, download our mobile application, provide, amend or update information on your account(s), uploading your contacts, offering products or services through our Platform, communicating with us, completing questionnaires or support tickets, and engaging with our services by browsing products or utilizing Platform features. Additionally, we also collect information through automated means, such as cookies, tracking pixels, and third-party integrations.

Why is the Personal Data collected?

We collect and process your Personal Data to operate, enhance, and personalize our products and services, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience. The purposes for which we process your personal data include:  

  • Order fulfillment and service delivery: We process your Personal Data to manage and fulfill orders, deliver products and services, process payments, and provide updates regarding your purchases. This includes communication related to order confirmations, shipping and delivery notifications, and promotional offers that may be of interest to you.  

 

  • Platform performance and improvement: Your Personal Data is used to provide Platform functionalities, analyze service performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and continuously enhance the usability and efficiency of our services.

Examples include verifying your place of establishment and bank account details for order processing and fraud prevention purposes.  

  • Fraud prevention and risk management: To safeguard your Personal Data and ensure a secure environment, we process your information to prevent fraudulent activities, unauthorized transactions, and potential misuse of our services. We may also utilize automated scoring systems to assess and mitigate financial risks and credit exposure.

In such cases, we will clearly communicate the intended use and obtain your consent in compliance with Saudi data protection laws.  

We are committed to safeguarding your Personal Data and ensuring that it is used only for the purposes stated above and that it will not be processed in a manner that is inconsistent with the purpose for which it was collected or in circumstances other than those stipulated in the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law. We are also committed to ensuring that any third party involved in processing your Personal Data adhere to the same high standards of data protection.

How do we process you Personal Data?

Sharing of Your Personal Data

We value your Personal Data and do not engage in selling it to third parties. Your Personal Data is shared only in accordance with the details outlined below and with trusted entities that adhere to data protection standards equivalent to those set forth in this Privacy Policy.

Transactions involving third parties: We provide access to services, products, applications, or skills offered by third parties for use on or through Tradeling Services. We may also collaborate with third-party businesses to jointly offer services or product lines. When a third party is involved in your transactions, it will be clearly indicated, and we may share Personal Data related to those transactions with the respective third party as necessary for processing and fulfillment.

Third-Party Service Providers: We engage third-party companies and individuals to perform specific functions on our behalf, such as fulfilling orders, delivering packages, sending communications, removing duplicate customer data, analyzing data, providing marketing support, providing search results and links (including paid listings and links), processing payments, transmitting content, scoring, assessing and managing credit risk, and providing customer service. These service providers have limited access to Personal Data required to perform their duties and are contractually prohibited from using it for any other purposes.

We recognize the importance of ensuring that these third parties and service providers access only the necessary data required to perform their functions. They are bound by contractual obligations to maintain confidentiality and are restricted from utilizing your data for any other purpose. 

Business restructuring and ownership changes: In the course of our business development, we may sell or buy other businesses or services. However, it will remain subject to the commitments outlined in our existing Privacy Policy unless you provide consent for changes. In the event that Tradeling is acquired, either substantially or in its entirety, Personal Data will be included as part of the transferred assets.

This may include sharing information to enforce our policies and other agreements, protect our rights, prevent fraud, or address security concerns. Promotional activities and research: Participation in promotions, contests, or market research initiatives may require you to provide additional Personal Data. This Personal Data may be collected by us or by our co-sponsors and vendors. If you choose not to provide the required data, participation in such activities may not be possible. Transfer of Personal Data outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 

In order to provide our services, it may be necessary to transfer your Personal Data to other entities located outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. These transfers are essential for various operational purposes, including but not limited to IT infrastructure management, data storage, platform administration, payment processing and facilitating transactions with third-party sellers operating outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.  

We are committed to ensuring that all transfers of Personal Data outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are conducted in full compliance with this Privacy Policy and in accordance with the applicable data protection laws of the Kingdom.

We are committed to safeguarding your Personal Data and have designed our systems with your security and privacy in mind. We implement industry-standard technical, administrative, and physical measures to ensure that your Personal Data is handled securely, in compliance with this Privacy Policy, and in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

To protect your Personal Data during transmission, we use encryption protocols and software, preventing unauthorized access and ensuring secure communication with our Platform. Additionally, we adhere to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) to ensure the secure handling of credit card information. We maintain safeguards in connection with the collection, processing, storage and disclosure of your Personal Data.

Despite our best efforts, no transmission of information over the internet can be guaranteed as completely secure. Therefore, we encourage you to take precautions to protect your account credentials and devices. Use a strong, unique password for your account and avoid reusing passwords across multiple platforms. If you are using a shared device, always log out after your session to prevent any unauthorized access.

How Do We Store Your Personal Data and For How Long?

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, as outlined in this Privacy Policy. However, we may retain your Personal Data beyond these purposes if there is a legal basis for a specific retention period, or if the data is related to an ongoing judicial proceeding. In certain situations, we may anonymize your personal data, ensuring that it can no longer be linked back to you. This anonymized data may be used for research and statistical analysis purposes, and we may retain it indefinitely without the need to provide further notice.

How do you destruct your Personal Data?

We retain your Personal Data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. Provided that no legal requirement mandates its retention, once your Personal Data is no longer required or if requested by you, we will securely delete, anonymize, or otherwise dispose of it, in accordance with the relevant applicable regulations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Additionally, we require all third parties with whom we have shared your Personal Data, in accordance with this Privacy Policy, to securely delete or anonymize such data once it is no longer necessary for the purposes it was collected or if requested by you, provided that no legal requirement mandates its retention.

How do we handle advertising?

We may display advertisements from third-party advertisers and provide links to external websites and applications through our Platform. These third-party advertising partners may collect certain Personal Data about you when you interact with their ads, content, or services. Please note that we do not control the privacy practices of these third-party websites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies to understand how they handle your personal data.  

To enhance the relevance of ads shown to you, we collaborate with advertising partners and share non-identifiable information that helps them deliver personalized Tradeling advertisements and measure their effectiveness. We do not share your name or any data that directly identifies you with third-party advertisers. 

If you wish to manage your advertising preferences, you can do so through the settings available on our Platform or by adjusting your browser settings to limit tracking technologies.

Your rights

You have certain rights regarding the collection, use, and processing of your Personal Data. You may exercise the following rights:  

  • Right to not provide certain information: You have the right not to provide certain information, but then you might not be able to take advantage of certain Tradeling Services.

 

  • Right to be informed:  You have the right to be informed about how your Personal Data is collected and used. If you have any questions regarding the collection or processing of your data, please contact us at legal@tradeling.com

 

  • Right to access your Personal Data: You can access, review, and update certain personal information associated with your account at any time by visiting the 'Account' section of our Platform. This includes, but is not limited to, your name and contact details (such as address, email, and phone number), payment methods and preferences, profile details, including login credentials and communication preferences and  order and purchase history, allowing you to track past transactions and manage future purchases.

 

Additionally, you can access information related to your order status, active subscriptions (if any), payment card information, promotional certificates, gift card balances, email notification settings, products you recently viewed and personalized recommendations based on your recent activity. Your account also provides access to your content, devices, services, and related settings, as well as your communications, interest-based advertising preferences, and recently viewed content.

 

  • Right to request correction of your Personal Data: If you believe that any of your Personal Data is incorrect, incomplete or outdated, you may request corrections by contacting us at support@tradeling.com

 

  • Right to request a copy of your Personal Data: You may request a copy of your Personal Data in a readable and clear format. To initiate such a request, contact us at support@tradeling.com.  

 

  • Right to request deletion of your Personal Data: You may request the deletion or destruction of your Personal Data. Requests can be submitted through our customer service team. However, please note that certain legal obligations may prevent us from fulfilling your request in full, and you will be informed accordingly.  

 

  • Right to withdraw consent or object to processing: You can, at any time, withdraw your consent for the processing of your Personal Data or restrict processing in certain instances. You can opt out of receiving marketing communications by adjusting your preferences through the unsubscribe link provided in our emails. You can also manage certain data usage preferences by updating your settings within the application or website including preferences related to in-app notifications, personalized recommendations, and browsing history or adjusting your device settings, such as disabling location services or restricting access to contacts. You can also modify cookie preferences in your browser settings to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, receive cookie notifications, or block cookies altogether. Please note that cookies and other identifiers enable essential features of Tradeling Services, and blocking them may impact your ability to use certain features of the Platform, such as adding items to your cart, proceeding to checkout, or accessing specific services.

 

  • Right to browse anonymously: If you prefer to browse our Platform without linking your browsing history to your account, you may do so by logging out of your account and disabling cookies in your browser settings.
